An abridged and illustrated chapter book retelling of Don Quixote, part of the bestselling Classic Starts® series that has sold more than 8 million copies!

Don Quixote is a knight-errant determined to keep the spirit of chivalry alive in 17th-century Spain. Accompanied by his sidekick, Sancho Panza, Don Quixote conjures up a love interest, meddles with other people’s lives, and fights with “evil giants” that are in fact just windmills. How much of Don Quixote’s adventures are real? Has he lost his mind . . . or is he the only lucid one in an excessively cynical world?

The Classic Starts® series has sold more than 8 million copies since it launched in 2004. These abridged, kid-friendly editions are the perfect way to introduce beloved stories to the next generation. Each book includes discussion questions by Arthur Pober, EdD.

About the Author

Miguel de Cervantes (circa 1547–1616) was a Spanish author. He spent many decades as a poor man, moving from job to job, until publishing Don Quixote de la Mancha in 1605. The book quickly became a success, and he published part two of the story in 1615, less than a year before his death.
