About the Author

Stacey Simmons, MA, PhD, LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Psychedelic Therapist. She is a clinical supervisor at Hope Therapy Center in Burbank, California. Her practice focuses on psychedelic psychotherapy, neuroscience and consciousness research. She is a volunteer researcher with the Semel Institute of Neuroscience at UCLA, as well as a researcher with the Trance Science Research Institute in Paris, France. She holds a PhD from the University of New Orleans, and a Masters degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California.

Will Van Derveer, MD is a psychiatrist, speaker, researcher and author. He is co-founder of Integrative Psychiatry Institute, which offers the most comprehensive training for mental health professionals in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. In addition to his clinical practice and teaching, he has staffed several MDMA-assisted psychotherapy studies, with an anticipated approval by FDA for the treatment of PTSD in 2024. Dr. Van Derveer earned his MD from Vanderbilt University and BA from University of Pennsylvania.
